Citation Issues

Hi all,

I need to cite some unpaginated documents from a court case, let's call it AJ-200. Years after this case was closed, the documents were used as part of another court case, let's call it OJ-500. The files from the AJ-200 case are therefore stored along with the documents from the OJ-500 case.

How do I cite the documents from the AJ-200 case?

On p. 430 of Evidence Explained use repository first, the hascert number  then name .on  page 434, section 9.3 for state level record, state to start with smallest then to largest which isexact opposite...  Is either correct?  I prefer the first... I'm trying to update citations from data I've had for more than 30 yearsof research to get more "standardized"  prior to publishing genealogy. Thanks  for all your wonderful work!!!

My research to find as much as possible finally led me to visit State Archives of Republic Serbia here in Belgrade. It is the main Archives in my country so I must say I was little nervous before entering the institution.

Hello everyone. Now that we've been citing electronic sources for over a decade (or two), I'm sure you know that the URLs in our citations will eventually become out-of-date. Some will be easy to fix, as the database or website just "moved" or has a new URL.

I'm attempting to create a citation for the Australia Birth Index on Ancestry, but not sure who to place in the 'repository' section. The "Australia, Birth Index, 1788-1922" is made up from a collection of different indexes created by each individual state, and each state handles their vital records differently.

In case of South Australia, the BMD Registration Office holds the vital records, do I simple cite the office, as I have shown below?

I have decided to go through the excercise of creating a source list entry, first reference note, and subsequent note for all of my sources.  I hope I will get to the point where I "speak the lanage" so to speak and won't need the quick models, but untill then I run into problems when the models don't quite work.  I used quick check model "website as a "book" on page 657.  

Any feedback would be appriciated.

The New England Historic Genealogical Society has original transcripts created by Lucius Barnes Barbour.  Digital images of these transcripts, containing information from the records of 136 Connecticut towns, 1640s to about 1850, may be seen at NEHGS' website at www.americanancestors.org.  I'm uncertain how to compose a reference note for these digital images now that I've read EE 2.18 that states that "[d]igital images online, for sale or free use" are treated as published.  Does that mean a transcript or manuscript that has been digitized online should be cited as a book -- the title of t

I would like to like to cite to a fact in a multi-page article.  Let's say the article can be found at pages 328-336.  Page 332 is where the fact appears.  What is customary to put into a reference note?

328 (just the first page of the article)

332 (just the page containing the fact)

328, 332 (both the first page and the specific page)

328-336 (all the pages of the article)

328-336, 332 (all the page of the article and the particular page)

I have a few questions about citing an image of a vital record located on a foreign website. The original records are in Dutch, and they are contained on a Dutch language website.

Question 1) Should our citation contain words in that foreign language?  I have a digital image of what appears to be a birth register from the Netherlands.
