Citation Issues

In a paragraph I have stated something like  During the gold rush days of California, this event occurred... (in brief).  It relates to history which is easy ready online, from libraries and learnt at school.

I have put a superscript reference number at the end of the paragraph.  then as a footnote I put the reference number with the words Source:  Internet research, library books and school history on this topic.

Is this correct or could it be left out.  I cannot put a specific item on the topic as there is mountains of sources for it.

I have written a family history book which uses copies of, or copied segments of, Birth Death and Marriage Certificates.  These have all been captured as Figures and listed in a List of Illustrations at the front of the book.  I have tried to follow the Chicago Style for citations throughout, especially with in text referencing.  I have an an Appendix where I have evidence articles (from digitised newspaers) itemised, but in text I have put eg Refer Appendix 1 - 1.1 this article explains about why he was in the area on this date.

I'm trying to cite a PDF reprint of a book that contains abstracts from a weekly newspaper.

The book, PDF reprint, the website offerring the reprint and the original newspaper are all from the same organization, leading to a pretty repetitive citation:

I have a manuscript fully cited and a source list, partially prepared. An issue I am struggling with is that I've cited many census records for several persons, many in different locations. Sometimes I used Ancestry, sometimes FamilySearch, sometimes I found them in a library. These span from 1790 through 1850.

I am attempting to cite my grandfather's record from the Canadian 1940 National Registration. I've tried searching this website and have spent all afternoon looking at various examples in Evidence Explained. Unfortunately, I'm not closer to determining the appopriate format for my citation.

It's been awhile since I posted a query. 

I am going to 'presume' that you may not be familiar with the records for the citation assistance that I am seeking, but I am hopeful that you can maybe give me some guidelines.

My query relates to vital records that are available to purchase in Australia, in this case, in the state of New South Wales, from the Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages. 

I've had a hard time with this one.  I have both church records and census records to cite from the Danish Archives online.  Both are on the same website in different areas.  For now, let’s just start with the church records. 

It is my understanding that the use of  ".com" may not be needed anymore when citing online website names such as Ancestry or FamilySearch (prior to using the web address in parentheses).  For example:

Skamania County, Washington, Marriage Records, 1950, no. 19210, Glen C. Henley—Angelina Segota, 12 June 1950; image, “Washington, Marriage Records, 1854-2013,” Ancestry (http://www.ancestry.com : accessed 11 June 2017).

Is this the new and correct use? Ancestry or Ancestry.com?

I have a county-level birth certificate for an infant born in May 1886 where the birth was not filed until January 1887. Which date should I use in the source citation, or is it best to use both?
