While reading the chapter 14.22 on how to cite articles found online, I was left wondering since I didn't understand if you had to or not, if its necessary to cite where a collection comes from that's found on sites like newspapers.com.
For example you'll see that on the left side of this link for the newspaper called Landmark, it says "Newspapers made available courtesy of Vermont" when you click on that link it takes you to the Vermont government website. Should I be putting at the end of my citation that the collection is from the state of Vermont, it doesn't give a specific archive so I don't know where the original newspaper is held.

Hello, Tower19. Typically, you would be citing the newspaper in Layer 1 and the website provider in Layer 2. If the website provider tells you where the filmed newspaper is housed, that would be in Layer 3 where you report what source the website is citing.
Given that the newspaper is a publication that is likely available in multiple libraries and archives (the common trait of publications), adding Layer 3 would be considered optional. That location data might be useful to you in some unforeseen situation down the road; but it would not be considered essential.
