Citing an online translation

I need to cite a translation from German to English.  The translation was done by a translation expert through the Germanology Unlocked website.  How do I cite this translation?  Thank you in advance!

werlingdk67, from your description, with no link to examine, it's not possible to give you a definitive answer. Two possibilities are likely:

  • If the translation is not published (if it was placed in a private and temporary holding space from which we download the translation), then we would cite the document in proper form, then add a free-form layer to say that we are using an English translation by Whoever and his/her qualifications.
  • If the translation is openly available to everyone at the website (published), then you have a more complex citation because both the original document and the publication (website and article or module) need citing. EE4 §3.16 covers this at length. Template 5 would be your guide.
