Do citations need to be repeated once a fact (like a birth or marriage) has been established? For example, in a KDP, the birth, death and marriage dates are listed for each child and then reported again when the child is discussed later. Is the same information cited again?

So, julsflake, if we cite a source for a birth or marriage on p. 23 and then we state the same details on p. 47 or 147, without citing our source, do we expect the reader to read back through all prior notes to find the specific spot in which we did cite it? Or, in a work that is fact-intensive (which most recitals of births and marriages are), do we expect the reader to even remember that this one fact has already been cited before?
This situation is why short citations are used.
