In 1998, my mother made a trip back to her hometown of Straubing, Germany. While she was there, she went to the Einwohnermeldeamt (Residents' Registration Office) and got copies of her and her siblings’ resident registration cards (Meldekarte). My sister found them while going through all of her things after she died. They were in a large box of old photographs and other documents. I have a separate resident registration card for each member of the family. I assume that they would be cited as an artifact using the person as lead and not the document. If I use the basic format for an artifact, I think it would be this way. I am using 3.37 as a guide. I am not sure if it is correct to use the German terminology or stick with the English version of the word. This particular record lists Franz Lukas and his wife, Hedwig ,along with their birthdates and marriage years and on the second page it lists all of the children. Am I close?
