I'm attempting to create a citation for the Australia Birth Index on Ancestry, but not sure who to place in the 'repository' section. The "Australia, Birth Index, 1788-1922" is made up from a collection of different indexes created by each individual state, and each state handles their vital records differently.
In case of South Australia, the BMD Registration Office holds the vital records, do I simple cite the office, as I have shown below?
"Australia, Birth Index, 1788-1922", database, Ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com : accessed 12 March 2013), entry for Hedley Brazlie Senn, 14 September 1894; citing Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Office, South Australia, p. 259, vol. 550.

EE 2.19 "Citing Repositories" covers this in one piece of fundamental advice that applies to all kinds of sources:
"When citing manuscripts that exist in only one place, the identity of that repository is an essential part of our citation. When citing books, film, and other published materials that are widely available, the name of the repository at which we used the source is not included in our formal citation."
A record imaged at a website is a published source. You cite what you use--i.e., that published source. Then, in an added layer, you cite whatever "source of the source" information the published source has given you about the original.
