Hello ESM,
I cited this record years ago in my Genie Software, but am adding info to FamilySearch and WikiTree, and am wondering if it gives enough info. What are your thoughts?
It is the "original" copy that was given to the groom/bride, it is extremely fragile, and damaged from the use of sticky tape to hold it together over the years. I know the provenance of it, my grandfather inherited his property and then my uncle inherited the same. The certificate came via my uncles wife.
Certificate of Marriage, James Somerville-Deborah Law, 9 January 1862; privately held by Robyn Ritchie, [ADDRESS FOR PRIVATE USE,] New South Wales : 2015. Original copy issued by the minister at time of marriage. Handed down to the current owner by the Hedley Somerville family (grandson of James).
I also have a "certified" copy of the certificate issued by the state of authority at the time, which is really a quarterly return (i.e. copy of information recorded). I might cite both? Should I?
Regards
Robyn

You've done well, Robyn. And…
You've done well, Robyn. And, yes, it would be a good idea to cite both.
