cite genealogy program's relationship calculator

Many genealogy programs include a "relationship calculator". How would one cite the "relationship calculator" as the source for the stated relationship in a sentence such as: "John Doe was the uncle of William Smith."

I am trying to use a modification of the Book (Compiled Records) template. The Full Footnote would be:

[COMPILER], compiler, [ITAL:][TITLE][:ITAL] ([PUBLISHER ADDRESS]:  [ACCESS DATE])<, [CD]><. Hereinafter cited as [ITAL:][SHORT TITLE][:ITAL]>.

This leaves out the Publisher field since it is the same as the Compiler (e.g., self-published). The Title would be something like: "Relationship Calculator within TMG Project".  The name of the project and other detail data would be in the Page(s) field. The "TMG" above would be the name of the genealogy program.

Hello, azchief.  Yes, a citation to software would follow the same basic format as a book. When we cite a file that we created within the software, we would follow the same basic format as a book with various chapter authors—placing our name in the chapter-author field and the name of our file (in quotation marks) in the chapter-title field.  The software title would then be in italics, as with a book title.

We should also cite the version number of the software in the field that we would normally use for the edition number of a book that had been issued in multiple editions. The parenthetical date would be the date that we created the file. (The term "accessed" is used when we are accessing a website online.)
