I am back now with another query - this time I am trying to cite a personal item that I hold for my brother.
Background: My brother passed away in 1997 in Royal Perth Hospital (Western Australia) in December 1997. When he was admitted, any personal items that he had, were taken and put in an envelope that were then described on the front on the front of the envelope. His watch was described but nothing else.
In this envelope, I have his watch plus his wallet that contains various other items as well as cash. The wallet is not described on the envelope (so I am unsure why it is in this envelope). It's certainly possible that my mother put it in there, before she passed the envelope onto me. But why she put it in there and did not give it to me as a separate item, is unknown.
I am using this family artifact to add a further citation for his date of birth, which is shown on the "typed label" that is attached.
So here I go (using Artifacts, privately held) staring with the creator of the item.
Source List:
Royal Perth Hospital (Western Australia). [Name of my brother] "Patient's Cash and Valuables" envelope. 12 December 1997. Privately held by [My Name], [ADDRESS FOR PRIVATE USE,] [Town], New South Wales. 2016.
Full reference note:
Label with name and date of birth, [my brother's name] "Patient's Cash and Valuables" envelope, 12 December 1997; privately held by [my name], [ADDRESS FOR PRIVATE USE,] [my town], New South Wales, 2016. Original envelope containing personal articles of his watch and wallet).
I have included a jpg of the envelope.
Thanks again for any guidance.
Regards
Robyn
Robyn, I note one issue: You…
Robyn, I note one issue: You began your Source List Entry with the identification of the hospital and place. That's good. Is there a reason why you did not do that with the full reference note?
I didn't pick that up, but I…
I didn't pick that up, but I know it is because my software did not replicate the creator in the reference note, only for the Bibliography.
I have now amended the note.
Many thanks for that observation and the question!
