I'm hoping for some help - this may be quite simple, but I'm a little bamboozled! How do I cite an immigration record found on Ancestry for Jane Blythe? The collection on Ancestry is "Victoria, Australia, Assisted and Unassisted Passenger Lists, 1839–1923" which is a collation of information held at Public Record Office Victoria.Any help would be greatly appreciated... I've attached an image of the record or you can see it here:http://interactive.ancestry.com.au/1635/30796_125513__090-0-00470?pid=3772939&backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.Ancestry.com.au%2f%2fcgi-bin%2fsse.dll%3fgss%3dangs-c%26new%3d1%26rank%3d1%26gsfn%3dJane%2bWillison%26gsln%3dBlyth%26msbdy%3d1827%26msbpn__ftp%3dAyrshire%252c%2bScotland%26msbpn%3d5328%26msbpn_PInfo%3d7-%257c0%257c0%257c0%257c3252%257c0%257c0%257c0%257c5328%257c0%257c0%257c%26msady%3d1856%26_83004003-n_xcl%3dm%26cp%3d0%26MSAV%3d1%26uidh%3dhuq%26ssrc%3dpt_t78949041_p32398147817%26msady_x%3d1%26msadp%3d_x%26pcat%3d40%26h%3d3772939%26recoff%3d6%2b7%26db%3dVictoriaPL%26indiv%3d1%26ml_rpos%3d1&ssrc=pt_t78949041_p32398147817&treeid=78949041&personid=32398147817&hintid=&usePUB=true

Sally, I'm presuming that you have Evidence Explained (but not our QuickSheet: Citing Ancestry.com Databases & Images, which has a specific example for an Ancestry immigration database) and that you are trying to adapt one of its models to fit this Australian collection. Can you point us to the model you are trying to adapt so we can target the issues that are bamboozling you? (Love that word!)
Hello
Hello
Yes I have EE and the Quick Sheet but I'm still not sure which model to use. Is it Archives and Artifiacts/Documents: Digitized or Manuscript Records? Or is it State Records/Miscellaneous Files?
I'm not sure which model to use but am leaning toward Archives & Artifacts/Documents: Digitized.
I really appreciate your help.
Sally, since you have the
Sally, since you have the Ancestry QuickSheet, what about the format for "Immigration-Emigration Rolls: Images" at the bottom of p. 3? That comes the closest to fitting your need. One likely difference is that your source-of-the-source details may be more specific than the generic NARA microfilm references in this particular example.
